Description

Fenland Wildfowlers Association members have the rights to shoot over the tidal marshes on the Wash coast between the rivers Nene and the Great Ouse (circa 9 miles) and inland duck shooting on some 200 acres of the intermittently flooded Hundred Foot or Ouse Washes.

Within the Association there is also a game-shooting syndicate of 1000 acres of farmland at Terrington and Newton, which has been in existence since 1954.

The FWA has a limited membership of 350 full members. Junior membership is available up to the age of eighteen. Our membership includes people of all ages, and of every financial background.

The 2022 annual subscription for renewing members is £200.00. This subscription includes £5 for a Wildlife Habitat Trust stamp (duck stamp) and also £74 for full membership of BASC. If you hold more than one membership in BASC then the extra payment can be refunded to you from Marford Mill. Membership of the game syndicate is available at an extra cost and subject to a waiting list.

We are actively seeking new members. Those new to wildfowling can take advantage of our mentoring scheme, to be accompanied by an existing club member to “learn the ropes” on the marsh.

A membership application form can be downloaded from our website. You will see that the application form asks for a proposer and seconder. This is essentially to establish applicants’ bona fides as shooters, and if you do not know anyone suitable then you will be interviewed by existing members of the FWA.
